Imphal, June 28 2018:
The NSCN(K) has claimed that India is solely responsible for the volatile situation, adding that the clashes between the Naga Army and Indian Army have been occurring since the past six-seven decades due to the militarisation of Naga country by the Indian Government.
In a statement issued by the deputy kiloner of MIP, Isak Sumi, the outfit said that the only guarantee to peace and calm is for India to abort military operations, unconditional withdrawal of her forces from Naga country and allow peaceful political process to take place.
The peace and stability will remain evasive as long as India resorts to her age old and double standard colonial "carrot and stick" policy, alleged the outfit.
On the "section of Nagas shedding crocodile tears and blaming the Naga Army and NSCN for the recent armed violence" they must understand that history cannot be twisted for their vested convenience and if at all they are Nagas to the core and truly yearns for peace, they should have the courage to ask the GOI to recall her demonic military hordes from Nagaland and immediately stop terrorising the Nagas, added the outfit.
Citizens of Mon district must ask the Indian forces to vacate the civilian areas, it added.
"Rather than joining hands to free our country and people from nearly a century of suppression, choosing to censure the sacrifices of Naga patriots is extremely repugnant and shall go down in the annals of the Naga struggle as traitors," claimed the outfit further.
