Imphal, January 25 2018:
Zeliangrong Union (AMN) today appealed Chief Minister N Biren Singh to extend help to the victims of Leisok village bomb blast.
Two minors were killed and three others (minors) were injured in the explosion.
The blast occurred at the backyard of one Ngamtat Kamei of the village, when the victims unknowingly handled the explosive device on January 21.A statement issued by the ZU said that a team of the union led by its vice president R Chandra Haomei visited the surviving minor victims at RIMS Hospital yesterday.
Two minors Gonmei Gialiangsui (9) s/o G Kakinthai and K Guilianei (4) d/o K Gairipou/Thaomu have been discharged from the hospital and K Jaojenthuilu (1 yr 10 months) is still undergoing treatment at the hospital, said the union.
It is sad and painful to know that Manipur Government officials as well as Zeliangrong frontal organizations have totally failed to understand the grievances of the victims' families and extend support, said the union today.
The one year and 10 months old K Jaojenthuilu whose condition is critical is expected to undergo major surgery anytime and need immediate financial help, said the union while it pinned its hope on the Chief Minister for possible assistance.
