MLA Shyamkumar picks flaws in PMGSY e-tender process

The tender for the 8th phase of Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is filled with errors and the prescribed guidelines that should be followed while calling tenders have been totally ignored, exclaimed MLA Th Shyamkumar on the floor of the State Assembly today.
Moving a Calling Attention Motion in this regard, MLA Th Shyamkumar said that there are apprehensions whether the process of e-tender for the 8th phase of PMGSY has been done in such a manner deliberately so that contractors of one's choice can be selected freely.
All the prescribed guidelines which are to be followed in the process of calling e-tender have been totally ignored, he asserted.
The MLA pointed out that although the guidelines say that the results of e-tender called should be declared within 90 days from the day of calling the tender, yet the process has not been completed even after the expiry of 90 days.
While answering to the Calling Attention Motion, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Francis Ngajokpa contended that there is no breaking of rules during the process of e-tender for the 8th phase of PMGSY.
The guidelines practice all over the country is also being
followed in Manipur.
MLA Th Shyamkumar, after hearing the clarification from the concerned Minister, further demanded to know why was delay in completing the process of e-tender even after the expiry of 90 days as mentioned under the guidelines.
At this point, Chief Minister O Ibobi, who is the leader of the House, intervened and stated the matter could be discussed during the Demand Wise discussion later on.
