Trucks stranded due to blockade

Imphal, November 04 2015:
Number of goods carriers have been stranded along the national highways after the 10-day economic blockade called by the United Naga Council (UNC) along all national highways began on Monday midnight.
Sources said over 130 loaded trucks have been stranded at Leingangtabi area of Jiribam though the passenger vehicles have been reportedly exempted from the purview of the blockade.
Nearly 15 trucks are also said to be stranded along the National Highway 2 (Imphal-Dimapur) due to the blockade.
Meanwhile, sources said that supporting the UNC economic blockade, members of Chandel Naga People's Front blocked the highway at Bongyang area.
Goods carrying vehicles were allowed to proceed after paying an amount of Rs 2000, said sources.
