Nominees of Film Awards announced

Imphal, August 29 2013: The nominations for Sahitya Seva Samita Manipuri Film Awards-2013 (SSS MANIFA 2013) were announced today at the office of Film Forum Manipur at Lamphelpat here with altogether 49 artists of the State competing in 17 different categories.

Announcing the names of the nominees, RK Jnanranjan, Co-ordinator of Film Award Committee, stated that this is the second edition of the award presentation.

Earlier, there were only 15 categories, but the categories have been increased to 17 from this year along with addition Special Mention and Special Jury Award (Lyricist) .

He also appealed to all the nominated artists to be present on the occasion of the award distribution ceremony to be held on September 15 at the auditorium of Library and Information Centre, Kakching, failing which strict actions will be taken up against them.

Kshetri Bira, Chairman, Sahitya Seva Committee, who was also present on the occasion, informed that the Neta Irawat Leelaroi Lifetime Achievement Award (Sumang Leela) for this year will be conferred on renowned Sumang Leela artist and lyricist Narendra Ningomba and the Neta Irawat Leelaroi Lifetime Achievement Award (Manipuri Cenema) to veteran film actress Yengkhom Roma.
