RLP presses for Govt job to victim of bus arson

The Rongmei Lu Phuam (RLP), Assam, Manipur and Nagaland has urged the state government of Manipur to provide a government job to the next of kin of Robert G.who was reportedly killed by the cadres of Kuki Liberation Army (KLA/KLO) in a bus arson on October 23 at Lahorijan, Khat Khati in Assam in the year 2008 .
Robert G, a Jawan of Army Supply Corps (ASC) of Sangruntang village, Tamenglong district along with his mother-in-law Ginthailiu were killed during the siege of the bus by the
cadres of KLA/KLO .
During a press meet held today at Grace Colony, Langol Tarung in connection with the 4th Death Anniversary of Robert G., Panti Gonmei, president of RLP said the government should pay attention and provide essential provisions like ex-gratia and suitable job to the deceased's family looking at the hardships faced by the family after the fateful incident.
Stating that State chief minister O.Ibobi has given an assurance that a suitable job would be provided to the deceased wife Gaiphunsinliu on humanitarian ground on October 1, 2009, she further said till now the government has not given any positive response to the matter.
Recalling on the incident, Gaiphunsinliu said her husband was killed by the cadres of KLO (Eagle Claws Unit) on October 23, 2008 at Khatkhati, Assam when the bus they were travelling which belonged to Imphal Airbus Travels was set ablaze by the cadres in connection with a monetary demand.
Expressing that she was appointed as a primary school teacher on substitute basis which she had discontinued without getting any salary, Gaiphunsinliu continued that she had also appeared in D.P.C of a primary teacher which was also not selected and added that she is finding hard now to serve her family after the demise of her husband.
Meanwhile, the Rongmei Lu Phuam (RLP) has submitted a memorandum to the chief minister of the state in connection with the case.
In the memorandum, the organization demanded for a government job like of primary teacher/assistant teacher to be given to the deceased wife.
