Imphal, April 16 2015 : Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Thursday launched its year-long celebration of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Babasaheb Dr BR Ambedkar at Congress Bhawan, BT Road.

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was the chief guest and MPCC President and Deputy CM Gaikhangam was the president of the function.

Various ministers, MPs, Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs, MPCC office bearers, party leaders and party workers attended the celebration.

Addressing the function, MPCC president Gaikhangam recounted Dr BR Ambedkar's life story and lauded the strong will and efforts of this leader, who fought against caste system prevalent in the then India, inspite of being born in a lowly-caste family of those time.

Chief guest of the function, CM Ibobi also spoke in similar lines about the major contribution and strong will of Dr BR Ambedkar.
