Langdum protests

People of Langdum, Imphal East staged different modes of protest agitation today too against the killing of Arambam Ranjan.
After staging a sit-in protest, a large number of people stood in line on the road and shouted different slogans.
They shouted slogans like "We condemn the killing of Ranjan", "Book the killers", "We want justice" etc.
One of the protesters said that the people of Langdum have been staging different modes of protest agitation urging the authorities to deliver justice but the Government seemed to be not sensitive enough and the killers are yet to be booked.
The villagers would continue with different modes of agitation and they would support any course of action chosen by the JAC constituted in connection with the killing of Ranjan, he said.
Notably, Arambam Ranjan of Langdum who was then staying at Churachandpur Khuga Tampak Zouveng was shot dead by some identified persons while discharging his duty in from of an ATM booth at Churachandpur district headquarters on September 4 before fleeing away with Rs 1.15 crore.
Ranjan was working as a security guard of cash replenishment agency, Writer Safeguard Private Limited.
Meanwhile, Urup Women's Welfare Association and Urup Young Civil Club staged a protest demonstration today against the gang rape of a girl child at Mayang Imphal which led to death of the victim and the killing of Ranjan.
