Imphal, November 04 2015:
BJP Candidate for Thongju Assembly Constituency Thongam Bishwajit on Wednesday filed his nomination to the Assistant Returning Officer office at Porompat.
Bishwajit was accompanied by BJP Manipur Pradesh President Th Chaoba, former MLA M Hemanta, BJP Manipur General Secretary Asinikumar and many party workers.
After filing the nomination paper, Th Chaoba said that BJP will win the coming bye-elections to the Thongju and Thangmeiband assembly constituencies.
Meanwhile, former NCP candidate of Thongju A/C who was also the Director of Planning Department Kangujam Mangi has joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday.
He was felicitated at BJP head office, Nityaipat Chuthek by a number of BJP Manipur Pradesh leaders including President Thounaojam Chaoba, former Thongju A/C MLA Thongam Bishwajit, former deputy speaker Sapam Dhananjoy and RK Ranjan.
During the felicitation programme, Th Chaoba said that out of the five leaders who represented "anti-Congress political parties" in the general election of Thongju A/C, four has joined BJP and supported BJP candidate Th Bishwajit for the November 21 bye-election.
Chaoba further said that BJP will fight the November 21 bye-election with an aim to root out corruption and decimate the Congress.
"What have the Congress done to develop the hills and valley in the last 15 years" asked Chaoba while adding that the Congress Government has failed to provide basic necessities to the public including drinking water and electricity.
Many hospitals have been constructed both in the hills and valley but the Government has failed to employ any doctors and so the Congress Government should be held responsible for the strained relations between the communities of the hills and the valley, alleged Chaoba.
Kangujam Mangi said that Thongju A/C has become one of the most underdeveloped constituencies in the State due to Congress rule and he decided to support the BJP and its candidate Th Bishwajit so as to bring development in the constituency.
