Several organisations of the state have continued to express condemnation over the killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan and two of his subordinates on February 17.The All Manipur Federation of Progressive Farmers Societies, Awang-Chingkhei Apunba Ireibak, Inat Kanba Lup (AIKANLUP), Nongchup Imphal Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (NIMPAL), Manipur Sahitya PArishad, Chingtam Social Workers' Union, have registered their condemnation over the killing while also sharing the grief of the bereaved families.
The Senior Citizens for Society (SCS), Manipur has also expressed its shock and sorrow at the dastardly and brutal murder of Dr Kishan and two of his subordinate staff on February 17 by a group of assailants.
In a statement issued by its general secretary, L Sadananda Singh, the Society condemns the senseless murder in the strongest possible terms while also saying that the act is provocative and serious violation of human rights fraught with the danger of creating bad blood among the people.
It also said that the precious lives could have been saved if adequate security was provided while also urging the State Government to provide adequate security guards to the responsible civil servants posted at far flung insurgency infested areas in the hills so that no such tragic incidents occur in the future.
