5-day National Integration Camp begins in Thoubal

The five-day National Integration Camp organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Thoubal under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development, Entrepre-neurship, Youth Affairs & Sports Govern-ment of India at Counting Hall of DC Office, Complex Thoubal began on Friday.
The opening function was attended by K.Meghachandra Singh, MLA, Wangkhem Assembly Constituency; T Ranjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal and Sh Shahib, Zonal Director of NYK, Imphal Zone as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Delivering the inaugural speech, Shahib Singh said the national integration camp is a flagship programme of the Government of India.
The present camp is being organized by NYK with a view to provide a platform to the youth coming from different states of India to share ideas and discuss the problems, developmental challenges and other opportunities.
This will create an opportunity to inculcate the spirit of unity, nationalism and feeling of pride for being a citizen of the largest democratic country in the world, said Zonal Director of NYK.
He further exuded confidence that the efforts made by NYK will enhance the sense of patriotism, positive direction among the youth for exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience to fight problems in the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Y Laksman Singh, District Youth Coordinator NYK, Thoubal said the basic objective of organizing the camp is to create nationwide opportunity for participation of youths for national integration and communal harmony irrespective of caste, creed, language, region, religion, custom and tradition.
During the camp, there will be lectures, seminars, quiz, group discussion, interaction session, power point presentation on the participating states, exhibition, community development, educational field visit, cultural progra-mmes etc, he informed.
