Imphal, February 23 2009:
Condemning the killing of Dr Kishan and two of his staff, the Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Chandel, has sensed that there are some people who want to portray the Kukis in bad light over the nature in which the employees were killed near a Kuki village.
In a press release, the information secretary of KSO, Chandel, Doumang Haokip said that the nature of the killing, the mentality of the killers in choosing the victim and the attitude of representing other communities in bad light deserve condemnation from every right thinking citizen.
The KSO statement also urged the government to award punishment to the killers befittingly and to ensure the non-recurrence of such incidents.
"No matter how big and powerful an individual or organisation(s) involved, they ought to be taught that no one is above law and there is no place for them in the civilized society," Doumang Haokip stated.
The statement further appeals the Government to lift the curfew in view of the coming examinations while saying that students are mentally detracted from their studies due to the curfew commotions.
Condoling the bereaved families of the victims and praying for the departed souls to rest in peace, the KSO statement also prays for justice to prevail sooner than later.
