Emphasising that the Indo-Naga peace talks should not distort the history of the land and disturb peace, Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India has demanded that the peace talks be brought to a conclusion amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
The party expects an amicable and peaceful accord, it said in a statement adding the Government of India should bring an early solution to ensure peace in the region.
The party also asserted that the ceasefire between the NSCN-IM and Centre should be limited to Nagaland only and not extended to other neighbouring States including Manipur.
Manipur had lost 18 brave souls during 2001 uprising, recalled the party appealing all parties in the talks to respect the State's integrity and ensure peace.
