State reports 372 new cases, seven fatalities

The state on Friday reported seven fresh deaths and 372 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 3642 samples tested and registered a positivity rate of 10.21 per cent against 12.63 per cent recorded on Thursday.
The active caseload has come down to 4303 out of which 1576 (36.63 per cent) are in home isolation, 996 (23.15 per cent) in CHICs, 1031 (23.96 per cent) in CCCs and 700 (16.27 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 133 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 263 are on oxygen support and 58 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support at JNIMS, Hand Hospital, Iboyaima Hospital and LFS Covid Treatment Centre though these facilities have 200, 24, 11 and 18 patients respectively.
At the same time, 25 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Thursday evening, 395 beds including 71 ICU/HDU beds in different hospitals, 2516 beds in different CCCs, and 294 beds (19 ICU/HDU) were available in the district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 80,815 positive cases and 1365 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw an addition of 11716 new cases and 183 fatalities out of which 2986 new cases and 48 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 372 new cases included 371 people (168 male & 203 female) from among the general population and 1 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at RIMS (29), JNIMS (22), District Hospitals (228) and other testing centres (93).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (73), Imphal West (131), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (10), Kakching (11), Ukhrul (23), Churachandpur (47), Chandel (1), Senapati (13), Tamenglong (9), Jiribam (2), Pherzawl (2), Kamjong (30) and Kangpokpi (2) .
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 7 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been provided.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (2), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1) and Bishnupur (3).With this, the cumulative number of deaths from the pandemic has reached 1739.Out of the seven victims, three did not have any co-morbid conditions and four had received first dose of Covid vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, 478 patients were discharged from home isolation (200), RIMS (18), JNIMS (13), CCCs (148) and CHICs (99) .
However, 1092 patients who were reported as discharged cases only on Friday, have been added in the number of discharged cases and altogether 1570 cases were deducted from the active caseload on Friday.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,10,215 (general population - 1,06,129 and CAPF personnel - 4,086) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,04,173 (general population - 1,00,133 and CAPF personnel - 4.040) and number of active cases is 4,303 (general population - 4,262 and CAPF personnel - 41).The recovery rate is 94.51 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1739 D-type and 357 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Vaccination pace, however, remains slow as only 4631 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday.
The cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 11,73,931 out of which only 2,93,672 people have got both doses of the vaccine even though there are 3,55,793 people eligible to get the second shot of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, 16 new positive cases were detected out of 151 samples tested from Thursday 2 pm to Friday 2 pm in Kakching district.
One case each was detected at Ema Hospital and Jivan Hospital while 14 cases were detected at government RAT sites.
All are residents of Kakching district, according to DSO Kakching.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (37,108), Imphal East (24,662), Thou-bal (8965), Churachandpur (9366), Kangpokpi (2555), Tamenglong (2972), Bishnupur (8414), Senapati (1991), Ukhrul (2084), Kakching (6014), Chandel (2117), Noney (952), Tengnoupal (1007), Jiribam (993), Kamjong (679), and Pherzawl(336).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (576), Imphal East (406), Thoubal (161), Churachandpur (152), Kangpokpi (55), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (180), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (23), Kakching (108), Chandel (32), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (12), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4), and Pherzawl(0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 35,519 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 23,196 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,78,880 tests per million population against the national average of 3,60,269 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 3642 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 10.21 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate stands at 9.37 per cent.
