SCERT organises sensitisation programme on NEP 2020

Imphal, September 11 2020: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) today organised a sensitisation programme on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at its office at Lamphelpat today.

The programme was attended by Commissioner M Harekrishna and Director Dr M Meenakumari Devi as chief guest and president respectively.

Speaking at the function, Dr M Meenakumari Devi said, education promotes social progress.

Quality education will bring social justice, equality and maintain the integrity of a Nation.

Quality education will also help in bringing development in the field of science and technology.

To suit the changing times, education policy needs to be updated and keeping this in mind, the Union Cabinet passed the NEP 2020 on July 29, she said.

The NEP 2020 encourages multidisciplinary, conceptual understanding, creativity and critical thinking, she said.

"Let us all try to understand more deeply and clearly about the new education policy so that we can implement it more successfully," she added.
