Assam Rifles celebrates World Health Day

Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR (S), organised lecture on health, hygiene and lifestyle diseases along with medical camps from April 5 to 7, 2024 at Phundrei Village in Thoubal district and at Sajik Tampak, Joupi, Sehlon and Kovang villages in Chandel district in line with World Health Day.
The medical health camps played a crucial role in addressing the healthcare needs of the people living in remote areas.
A total of 550 people including men, women and children were screened by the doctors, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
As a part of the same endeavour, on April 6, 2024 Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp and thereafter distributed essential items at and orphanage at Monglenphai village and essential aid in terms of relief materials to locals of remote village of Songdoi village of Churachandpur district.
These engagement with the local population served to strengthen trust, enhance cooperation, and foster a sense of mutual respect and appreciation.
World Health Day served as a platform for community bonding and educational awareness focusing on preventive healthcare measures, hygiene practices and to empower individuals and communities to lead healthier lives, added the statement.
