Imphal, June 04 2015 : NSCN/ GPRN, KYKL and KCP have claimed that a combined team of the three outfits attacked a convoy of 6 Dogra Regiment at Tengnoupal-New Somtal road in Chandel district today and killed 20 military personnel including one JCO.

The attack left 20 other personnel critically injured.

The assault started at around 6 am and lasted till 9 to 10 am, said a joint press release.

United Liberation Front of Western South East Asia comprising NSCN (K),Ulfa (I), Kamatapur Liberation Organization and NDFB (Songbijit) claimed responsibility for the Manipur ambush.

Ulfa (I) leader Paresh Baruah called up local television channels saying that the ambush was carried out under orders from SS Khaplang, chairman of the new platform.
