Public rally calls for resolution of ongoing conflict

Apublic rally was staged at Heirok today under the banner 'Mass rally against war situation in Manipur by irresponsible Government' jointly organised by Apunba Meira Paibi Heirok, Ningol Club Heirok and Apunba Club Heirok.
The mass rally started from Heirok Part II Maning Leikai and culminated at Heirok Part II Litan City Ground followed by a public meeting where a number of resolutions were taken in connection with the prevailing conflict situation in Manipur.
Placards which read SoO pact with Kuki militants should not be extended', 'Go Back Assam Rifles', 'No cultivation of poppy in Manipur', 'Trace the whereabouts of missing Meitei individuals during the conflict', 'Implement NRC in Manipur immediately', 'Declare ITLF and COTU as unlawful organisations', etc were used and similar slogans were raised during the rally.
Speaking in connection with the rally, the representatives of the organisers demanded that strict resolutions should be taken in the upcoming Assembly session against the 10 Kuki MLAs and Kuki narco-terrorists to resolve the prolonged communal conflict.
Highlighting that the civilians have been adversely impacted by the prevailing conflict, they urged that resolutions should be taken during the upcoming assembly session to end the conflict and for restoration of peace and normalcy in strife-tom Manipur.
The representatives demanded that stringent actions should be taken against those who have been trying to disintegrate the State and all possible measures should be taken up to safeguard the unity and integrity of Manipur.
Further they informed that a memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister and Speaker through Deputy Commissioner Thoubal about the above demands and resolutions of the public meeting.
