Three teens crushed to death

Imphal, June 04 2015 : Three twowheeler borne teenagers were crushed to death by a Tata truck at Singjamei market under Singjamei police station today.

All of them were students of DAV Public School, Sangakpham bazar.

They have been identified as Thangmiliyan Paite (19) s/ o (L) Solet Paite of Langol Housing Complex, Md Tareef Hassan (15) s/o Md Abdul Hassan of Lilong Litan Makhong and Ningthoujam Viki (16) s/o N Heramani of Khurai Thangjam Leikai.

Taref and Viki were class X students while Thangmiliyan was a class XII student.

Police sources said that the incident happened at around 1 pm.

The three teenagers, who came on a Honda Dio, were crushed by the truck after they fell in the middle of the road as they tried to avoid collision with another two-wheeler.

Passersby stopped the truck at some distance although the driver tried to flee with his vehicle.

Although, all the three students were rushed to RIMS, two of them were declared brought dead while another succumbed to his injury after some time.

Angry locals and passersby broke the windshield and other parts of the vehicle.

Singjamei police have taken the driver and the truck in their custody.

The bodies have been deposited at RIMS morgue for post mortem examination.
