Career counselling seminar held

Senapati, May 03 2023: A one day Career Counselling Seminar was jointly organised by the Zhaimai Baptist Churches Union (ZBCU) and Zhaimai Union, Senapati Karong Area (ZUSKA) for young students of the region on May 1 last.

Lokho Khrii Levi, member of the organizing committee stated ZBCU and ZUSKA decided to host and sponsor the program for the young and enthusiastic students of the region adding the students are in the crossroad not knowing where to go without proper direction and guidance to opt the right way.

The program was organised to open the minds of the students and parents to see what life is all about and to enable them to see the large number of career opportunities.

Sanjenbam Silomi Devi, Director, SS Career Counselling Solution, Imphal spoke on "Career Guidelines: What is the right career for me" and Liba Hopeson, Youth & Education Secretary, Poumai Naga Baptist Association (PNBA) spoke on "Integrating faith and education" .

Speaking at the program, Sanjenbam Silomi Devi stated that many youths in the State fail to get a job owing to lack of many skills such as interview tactics and techniques and so on.

She appealed to the youths to make the best use of whatever resources available including social media and mobile phones for educational and career opportunities rather than wasting time on unnecessary things.

She further enlisted many career options including NDA/CDS, management, computer engineers, air hostess, engineer, forestry, bio-chemistry, fashion designing, hospitality, tourism and travelling tourism management, etc.

Lastly she urged all to choose a career according to one's talent and capabilities and not always follow one's interests.

Liba Hopeson emphasized on the need of inculcating a disciplined lifestyle for one's well-being and to use their knowledge for the development of the society.

More than 100 youths of the region who have appeared in the Class XII exams and BA exams attended the seminar.
