Dingko's mother apologizes to Moreh public

Imphal, January 19 2014 :
Ngangom Angoubi, the mother of tainted Asian Games gold medalist and boxing coach Ngangom Dingko, apologized to the people of Moreh town today for her son's disgraceful act of assaulting a woman weightlifter, namely Soibam Aranbala (17), d/o Rohen of Moreh Ward No.6 and two other girls at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex on January 13 .
Angoubi along with some of her family members arrived at the office of Meetei Council, Moreh at around 10 am today.
She apologized to the community leaders and members of social organizations of Moreh who were gathered at the MCM office.
The family members of Dingko were accompanied by a team of Moreh police to the office of Meetei Council to avoid any unwanted incident.

A five-point memorandum was also signed by Dingko's mother Angoubi with her daughter Ranton (33) as the witness.
The points mentioned in the memorandum were removal of Dingko's name from the road named after him; termination of Dingko and two other wardens of SAI/SAG; personal appearance of Dingko before all communities of Moreh; bearing all medical expenses of Aranbala by Dingko; and a suitable government job to Aranbala if she becomes handicapped.
The women leaders of Moreh poured out their anguish and displeasure to Dingko's mother and even rebuked her for not stopping her son from assaulting the three young women weightlifters.
They said that Dingko was once the 'hero of Manipur', but his brutal act against the three young women players has made himself the 'villain'.
The incident is also a disgrace in the history of games and sports for Manipur as well as in front of other states.
Vice-President of Meetei Council Moreh L Tomba, Secretary of ACODOM Th Budha Meitei, President of HTC Moreh Jangmang Haokip, Vice-President of Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh Md Ahmed and Secretary of Tamil Sangam Moreh Subramaniam were present among the gathering at the office of Meetei Council, Moreh.
