Y Khemchand, Deben join BJP

Imphal, January 06 2013 : BJP would be coming up with a sweeping victory in the next General election to the Parliament which is scheduled to be held in 2014 and India is sure to have the rule of NDA once again, exclaimed Th Chaoba, President of BJP, Manipur State Unit.

Chaoba was speaking at a function held at the residence of Y Khemchand, at Yumnam Leikai today where he officially announced the joining of Y Khemchand and U Deven to BJP, Manipur State Unit.

Chaoba said that the strength of BJP in Manipur has also increased of late.

The joining of Khemchand, who was once a member of Trinamool Congress and former MLA U Deven, to BJP, would only strengthen the position of BJP in the State and considering the fact that the Congress party is at stake in most of the big Sates like Bihar, West Bengal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi, it is most likely that BJP would return to power at the Centre after the next Parliament election in 2014 .

Elaborating on the issue of rising violence against women and children in the State, Chaoba alleged that the State Government has not been able to safeguard the life and liberty of women and children in the state.

There is the urgent need to establish Fast Track Courts in the State as done in other parts of the country including Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
