Veteran scribe passes away

Veteran journalist and former Manager of PTI, Imphal, Phanjoubam Tarapot, passed away at RIMS hospital last night around 11 due to an illness.
He was 63 .
Ph Tarapot is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters.
Tarapot joined Press Trust of India (PTI), Delhi in 1978 as an Assistant Manager.
He also worked as the PTI Assistant Manager in Kolkata, Arunachal Pradesh and Eastern Circle before being appointed as the Manager of PTI, Imphal.
He retired from service in 2014 .
He had written four books�three in English and one in Manipuri.
His books are 'Insurgency movement in NEI,' 'Bleeding Manipur,' Drug abuse and illicit trafficking in NEI including Manipur' and 'Eikhoigi Ireibak' .
At the same time, the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union and PTI, Imphal have condoled the demise of Ph Tarapot while also sharing the grief and pain of the bereaved family.
