Farmers' training concludes

A 6 day farmers' training programme organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at its training hall at Hengbung under the sponsorship of North Eastern Council concluded today.
DC Senapati, Salam Somorjit, Administrative Officer, Foundation for Environment and Economic Development Service, GJ Paul, Senior Scientist of KVK Hengbung, Dr N Jyotsna and EE of Technical and Promotion Cell, GoM, N Ibomcha graced the function as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the event, Salam Somorjit stated that KVK Hengbung is one of the most active KVK units in the entire North-East.
Public, particularly farmers of Kangpokpi and Senapati districts have been benefited by the work and initiatives of the KVK unit at Hengbung, Somorjit lamented.
Saying that the initiatives of the KVK unit to impart proper knowledge to the farmers regarding pig rearing, fish and poultry farming are laudable, he added that the various programmes of the KVK will also help increase farmers' income and boost the economy of the State.
Dr N Jyotsna encouraged the youths to adopt agriculture and allied practices.
