Imphal, March 03 2014 :
Regarding United Naga Council (UNC)'s statement of not wanting to dwell together with the Meiteis in the state, opposition MLA L.Ibomcha has demanded the declaration of Naga apex body as an unlawful organisation during the Zero Hour of the last day of Manipur Legislative Assembly session today.
The MLA further maintained that the UNC's statement urging for separation of the Nagas and the Meiteis before further delay is against the law and so the state government should take the matter seriously.
He also urged that no state government representatives should be sent during the talks for Alternative Arrangement (AA) and during the formation of High Power Committee for AA.
He cautioned that, if this happens, then a big issue will be created among the people of the state.
On the other hand, reacting to the statement of United Naga Council (UNC) which said Meiteis and Nagas could never be together in the State, Manipur People's Party (MPP) has blamed the Centre and State Government for letting the UNC to give such communal and provocative statement.
Talking to media persons here today, President of MPP N Sovakiran said that Manipur is not just the land of Meiteis.
The State has more than 33 tribes besides Meitei Pangal, Nepali, Sikh, Jain and other communities.
The UNC's statement was most communal and it has to be condemned by all.
He further said that the Central and State Governments should not conceal the details of tripartite talks to the public.
