Imphal, February 01 2016: Three Councillors of Sekmai Nagar Panchayat who got elected on Congress tickets and another independent Councillor have joined BJP.

BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba has approved their entry in the party apart from claiming that BJP would assume power in six Municipal Councils and four Nagar Panchayats.

The three Councillors who got elected on Congress tickets and have shifted allegiance to BJP are Kh Solendro (Ward No 4), H Anandi (Ward No 8) and Kh Purnimashi (Ward No 2). Along with them, independent Councillor Kh Romoni (Ward No 7) too has joined BJP.

On the other hand, three individuals who got elected to Lilong (Thoubal) Municipal Council as independent candi- dates have joined Congress.

The independent Councillors who have joined Congress are Ajmal Nisa (Ward No 3), Ibemcha (Ward No 5) and Abdul Kalam (Ward No 7) .
