Rebels ban on Republic Day creates beefed up extreme security measures
Many "alarms' at various places over suspected object mistaken as bombs

When people across the country is preparing for a grand celebration of the 68th Republic Day of the country, people here in this part of the country are severely affected with mental harrassment on discovery of objects assuming it as explossives at many places.
People fear as they had experienced blasts particularly ahead of Republic Day celebration planted by militants to disturb the celebration.
At around 9 am today morning an object which looks like explossives found near City Convention at Palace Compound Imphal East had created panic to the people of the surroundings.
Later, police team along with bomb disposal sqaud fond it as plastic bags with normal items.
At around noon today, a convoy of Assam Rifles trooper reportedly recovered a bomb like object at Nillakukhi area.
Almost all rebel groups operating in the North Eastern states had boycotted the Indian Republic Day celebration.
Various rebel groups had already hand out press statement calling total shutdown of all wakes of lives on the day calling total shutdown.
The boycott called had created mental disturbance to the general public on whether to celebrate the Republic Day out of fear or perhaps on thinking that the boycott called is justified.
Police team of all district particularly those of the Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal , Kakching and Bishnupur had beefed up security measures by conducting search operation any many suspected area to flush out presence of anti social elements.
Apart from that the state home department had deployed state force at almost all places of Imphal East and West district since today afternoon to ensure full proof security while celebrating the Republic Day here in Imphal.
Hectic preparation are being taken up for a jubilant Republic Day celebration not only at Imphal but also at various district head quarters of the state.
However, whether general public will be able to participate the country's auspicious day remain as a big question with the kind of security arrangement.
"We know the security force are being deployed in large number to ensure safety for all of us but not everything happened as we expected, these security force sometime created us inconviniences by the way they check us", Elangbam Dinish, a chicken shop runner in Imphal told this reporter.
"I do want to take my daughter to let her witness the important day of the country, but I fear if anything unwanted happened as many rebel organisations had ban the Republic Day and called total shutdown on the day", N Subhash a grade IV government employess said.
Some vendor ladies at Khwairambandh keithel who sold vegetable at road side on hide and seek basis were not happy when told that there will be total shut down on January 26.Not because they want to celebrate the Indian Republic Day but because it is a one lost to their earning.
"I don't care about the Republic day but I am worried about my two daughters whom I used to feed them from my daily earnings from selling vegetables at Khwairambandh Keithel, Chabungbam Memcha a street vendor told this reporters.
Some of the vendor lady who came to Imphal for far off place were angry to passenger service auto vehicles as they told that there will be no service tomorrow.
On the other hand it is not sure on whether every citizens who came to witness the celebration will be allowed or not.
