Imphal, October 09 2020:
A consultative interaction on the Framework Agreement between Government of India, NSCN (IM) and other Naga organisations was held today at Congress Bhavan here under the aegis of Research Department, MPCC.
The interaction programme chaired by MPCC vice-president (administration) Dr Kh Ratankumar resolved that all the stakeholders of Manipur should be consulted before any final settlement is sealed.
It also adopted another resolution which reads, "...any solution should not disturb the territorial integrity, cultural integrity, social, financial and administrative integrity of Manipur".
MPCC president M Okendro attended the morning session as the chief guest where Free Press School of Journalism, Review of Arts and Politics Editor Pradip Phanjoubam and Kuki Reformation Forum chairman TS Haokip presented papers as resource persons.
Speaking to media persons about the consultative interaction, Dr Kh Ratankumar said that the Research Department was opened under AICC's instruction.
The main functions of the Research Department are collection of materials, data and sharing knowledge about political, social and economic issues of the country and the State, he said.
Even though the Research Department was set up very recently, it organised a similar consultative interaction on the delimitation issue about a month back.
Congress party's position on the delimitation issue is very clear and it has already urged the authorities concerned to defer the Delimitation exercise till 2021.The party has also filed a petition at the Court challenging the proposed Delimitation exercise, he said.
The Framework Agreement is another key issue of the State.
Considering the urgency of the issue, the research department hosted an interactive session on the Framework Agreement today, Dr Ratankumar said.
