Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha, Manipur Pradesh, Popular Front of India (PFI), Manipur State, All India Imams Council (AIIC), Manipur State have expressed concern over the outbreak of a disease in Lilong Kendra and has drawn the attention of the Government to contain the outbreak of the epidemic at the earliest before things turn ugly.
It is worth mentioning that fear of cholera outbreak has gripped the residents of Lilong with over 200/300 people reportedly suffering from symptoms similar to that of cholera on January 30 and the symptoms is spreading rapidly in Lilong Chingjao, Lilong Nungei, Ningthikhong Khongban Paring, Nungeiching village mounting tensions in the entire Lilong Assembly Constituency.
Due to lack of proper medical facilities at Lilong PHC, people showing signs and symptoms of cholera are being admitted at RIMS, JNIMS and other private hospitals of Imphal.
Meanwhile, Manipur Health Services Director O Ibomcha visited the cholera affected areas of Lilong today and assured the people of all possible help from the Health Department.
On the other hand, a free medical camp was held under the initiative of DC Thoubal T Ranjit in association with local clubs at Lilong Chingjao Nungei playground today and altogether 500 people attended the medical camp.
