Congress fails to supply uninterrupted power: BJYM President Anurag

All steps taken by the Congress Government headed by O Ibobi for ensuring uninterrupted power supply notwithstanding, the BJYM claimed on Sunday that such a plan will remain impossible in the State as long as the Congress is in power.
Only when the BJP comes to power in Manipur, 24-hour electricity supply in the State will become a reality, National BJYM President Anurag Thakur said at a programme "Youth for Future" here at the State BJP office complex.
Attending as the Chief Guest at the programme organized by Bharatiya Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Manipur Pradesh, Anurag said the Narendra Modi Government is a game changer for development in the country.
He said a variety of comprehensive development projects are being taken up in the North East with special focus by the Centre.
The Congress could not make the grade while introducing the Look East Policy and that people did not witness any noteworthy development in the region when the Congress ruled the nation, Anurag added.
Expressing concern about the problem of unemployment in Manipur, the BJYM leader identified an assortment of opportunities that can be offered by tourism sector of the State.
Anurag assured more development in the State's sports infrastructure.
Earlier in the day, Anurag, who is also the Secretary of Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI), visited Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground at Luwangshangbam to oversee it personally.
He met representatives of Manipur Cricket Association there and assured them that he would soon put forward cricket infrastructure development plan for Manipur.
State BJP President Th Chaoba while speaking during the programme Youth for Future said the party is continuously gaining strength in Manipur.
Chaoba was confident of winning all the three Assembly seats for which by-polls are to be held soon.
He said the Congress which formed the previous six Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) managed to get a single council in the recent polls.
Later, Anurag announced an "Explore Manipur" of Manipur BJYM, which aims to look at all potential tourist spots in different parts of the State.
National BJYM Secretaries Doni Nich and Sayantam Basu, Manipur BJP General Secretary M Ashinikumar and BJYM President O Malesh were also present at the programme.
