Imphal, April 30 2018:
Employees of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services staged a sit in protest at the Directorate's office at Sanjenthong today, in support of the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Govt.Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) demand for implementation of 7th Pay in the State.
Speaking to media persons, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services Employees Association publicity secretary Ch Ashokkumar condemned the delaying tactics played by the State Government regarding the issue and explained that the sit in protest was organised in support of the JAC's demand.
He stated that BJP came to power first in Manipur, when compared to Tripura, but 7th Pay has already been implemented in Tripura but not in Manipur.
The employees are feeling restless as the B JP, which had promised the 7th Pay in its Vision Document (manifesto), has failed to take up any tangible steps till date.
On the other hand, staff and employees of Excise Department also staged a sit in protest at Lamphelpat in support of the JAC's demand.
