In what could be seen as a major loophole in medical treatment, a woman patient who was diagnosed with both kidneys failure at RIMS Hospital was found later to be suffering from just a case of minor infection at the Shija Hospital.
Wangkhem Eliza (31) w/o W Dinachandra of Langol Ningthou Leikai was admitted to RIMS Hospital for a delivery case on May 9.After giving birth to a male child on May 10, the patient experienced difficulty in passing urine, following which dialysis were conducted five times.
However, doctors at the hospital informed family members of the patient that both her kidneys have failed and that chance of survival is very low.
Not satisfied with the treatment at RIMS, the patient was shifted to Shija Hospital where it was confirmed after a thorough medical examination that the patient was suffering from minor infection only.
