Sit-in-protest demands justice

Kakching, October 03 2018: A sit-in-protest was held at Pallel market demanding fair investigation and delivery of justice in the alleged killing of G Jiteshwar Sharma alias Gypsy, Thangjam Satish, Phijam Naobi, Thounaojam Prem and RK Ranel by Indian Army.

The protest demonstration was jointly organized by JAC Against the Custodial Killing of G Jiteshwar Sharma, Th Satish, Th Prem, RK Ranel and Ph Naobi, Ching Tarn Apunba Nupi Lup (CHINA Lup) Pallel and Pallel Area Ching Tarn Development Association (PACTDA) .

Placards which read as "Handover mortal remains of Gurumayum Jiteshwar Sharma and Thangjam Satish allegedly killed by 3-Corps Intelligence and Surveillance Unit (CISU) to their families", "Initiate probe on the 'Extra Judicial Execution' of Jiteshwar, Satish, Prem, RK Ranel and Naobi by Independent Investigating Agency", "Befitting punishment to be meted out to alleged Indian Army Officials and their associates who were involved in the brutal murder", "Repeal AFSPA and black law" were used during the protest demonstration.

President CHINA Lup Pallel, Atom Nungshi said that imposition of AFSPA in Manipur emboldened the army personnel to arrest any person on mere suspicion while adding that Ching Tarn Apunba Nupi Lup will extend endless support to the demands of JAC in the alleged extrajudicial killings of the five persons - G Jiteshwar Sharma alias Gypsy, Thangjam Satish, Phijam Naobi, Thounaojam Prem and RK Ranel.
