A sit-in-protest cum public meeting held in connection with the disappearance of Md Ajit Ali, a student of Catholic School, Canchipur resolved to launch intense agitation in case the Government of Manipur cannot confirm whereabouts of the missing boy within September 25 .
Addressing a gathering during the public meeting at Lilong Bazar today, convenor of the JAC, formed in connection with the missing case namely Md Liyaqat Ali, said Ajit Ali s/o Md Ahmed Ali of Haoreibi Mayai Leikai (Kanjongpur), went out of home for Singjamei on a cycle at around 3 pm of September 18 telling family elders that he would be clearing tuition fee of his private tutor.Inspite of the boy missing for nearly a week and registering a 'missing person report' as well as memorandums to authority concerned his whereabouts remain unknown, lamented the convenor alleging indifferent attitude of the State authorities on the issue.
Reminding that the boy's whereabouts should be confirmed within the specified date, Liyaqat also asserted that strong agitation, starting with road blockade on September 26 would be launched by the JAC in association with NGOs.
He also claimed the support of All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation, All Manipur Muslim Coordinating Committee, Popular Front of India (Manipur state) and all social organisations.
