Bomb threats at Thoubal Thoudam

Imphal, December 30 2011: A hand grenade was kept by some unidentified persons near a concrete mixer machine used in the construction of retaining wall of Thoubal river at Thoubal Thoudam under Thoubal police station.

Bomb expert team of Manipur police picked-up the grenade and set it off at river bank of Thoudam Maning Leikai today at around 10.30 am.

Meanwhile, a bag suspected to be containing bombs was found nearby the Churachandpur bus parking frightening the local people and passers-by.

The bag was found on a table near the bus parking of Imphal-Churachandpur early morning.

A police team rushed to the place and opened out the bag by using ropes.

Later, police informed that the bag contained only eatable things.
