Documentary film screened

Ukhrul, March 17 2015:
A two day programme on screening of art and culture based documentary film organized by Film & Cultural Society of North East in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Art was inaugurated by Soreichan Nakhedei, Director, Echoes School of Music Tuning Arts at Town Hall Phungreitang, Ukhrul district today, reports Mungchan Zimik.
Organised mainly to promote and enlighten the youngsters on the diverse cultures of the country, a documentary on Thang Ta, an indigenous martial art form of Manipur was also screened.
Speaking at the function, Rahul Jain, secretary, Film & Cultural Society of North East expressed the need of educating the youth about various cultures of the country in order to instill a feeling of unity in diversity and brotherhood.
Hrisheekesh Modak, DC Ukhrul, Weapon Zimik, president, TNL and Col PK Choudhary, 41 AR also attended the programme.
More than 400 school children took part in the interaction programme.
The programme was organized under the aegis of Dalmia Bharat Cement, Ukhrul district administration, IDPA, Danish Film Institute, Polish Institute New Delhi, Goethe- Institute, 41 AR and TNL.
