Shillong Students' Union condemns Peace Accord

Condemning the recently signed peace accord between Govt of India and NSCN(IM), Shillong Students' Union President Huidrom Sangba said that the union will stand against the agreement, if it consists any point which could threaten the territorial integrity of Manipur.
He claimed that the eight-point agreement consists a point which says 'All Naga Inhabited Areas', which means the accord could threaten the territorial boundaries of neighbouring States of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Manipur.
While admitting that the particular point could not be taken lightly, the union also welcomed any effort to bring peace in Nagaland State.
Meanwhile, the union also organised and observed the Patriots Day on Thursday at Red Land, Shillong where various people paid floral tributes to the photograph of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General.
The students union will also organise a blood donation camp on the birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot in September at Civil Hospital, informed the president.
