ABVP Manipur organises media workshop, voting awareness campaign launched

Imphal, April 08 2024: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Manipur organised a 1-Day Media Workshop at ABVP State Office in Singjamei Chingamakha Imphal on Sunday.

According to a release issued by ABVP Manipur, the workshop was conducted with the aim to.

enhance the journalistic skills of young students and professionals interested in media & communication.

The workshop featured insightful sessions conducted by experienced journalists and media professionals, covering various aspects of journalism, including news writing, reporting, ethics, and the role of media in democracy.

The participants had the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions and hands-on activities to improve their understanding and skills in the field of media.

Ashutosh Singh, national media convener ABVP and keynote speaker at the workshop, emphasized the importance of responsible and ethical journalism in today's society.

He encouraged the participants to use their skills to promote transparency, accountability, and social justice.

Meanwhile, the ABVP Imphal has initiated a robust Voting Awareness Campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 .

In a release, BVP state office secretary, L Rajesh Singh said that recognizing the pivotal role of young voters in shaping the nation's future, ABVP aims to encourage 100% voter turnout among the youth demographic.

As part of this initiative, ABVP members at Government Polytechnic College, Manipur College, and Oriental College are actively engaging with new young voters to emphasize the significance of exercising their franchise.

The campaign seeks to empower the youth, instilling in them a sense of responsibility towards their role as citizens of India.

ABVP Imphal mentioned that through various interactive sessions, workshops, and awareness drives, it has been fostering a culture of informed decision-making and democratic participation.

ABVP Imphal continued that the focus is not only on casting a vote but also on understanding the electoral process, importance of each vote, and the impact it has on shaping the Nation's destiny.

"ABVP believes that the youth are the torchbearers of change and progress in the country.

By encouraging them to vote, we are not just fulfilling a constitutional duty but also ensuring that their voices are heard loud and clear in the corridors of power", it added.

Appealing to every young citizen to exercise their right to vote responsibly and conscientiously, ABVP said, "Let us come together to uphold the democratic values that form the bedrock of our nation and shape a brighter future for generations to come" .
