Imphal, July 31 2011: A 29 year old man identified as Ayekpam Mangaal s/o Modhuchandra of Ningthem Khunou in Jiribam sub-division, who went missing about nine days back, has been found dead with multiple wounds likely to have been inflicted by sharp weapon, reports our Jiribam correspondent.

Mangaal's body with cut marks on various parts including his throat which was slit and in a highly decomposed state, was found dumped near a rivulet at Rashidpur area, which is about 7 kilometres from Jiribam police station.

The corpse was retrieved at around 11 am today by the police, who have also registered a case along with launching an investigation.

Meanwhile, denouncing the killing, a massive torch rally was taken out this evening by the local womenfolk under the joint aegis of Apunba Jiri Meira Paibi, Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup and the JAC formed in connection with the killing.
