Ex-gratia for NSAP pensioners released: Nemcha Kipgen

Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen announced that the funds for 2nd Instalment of ex-gratia of Rs 500 under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) have been disbursed today for the beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) and Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS) under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) as an assistance to the underprivileged in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
Nemcha informed that a sum of Rs 309.87 lakhs was received from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India as 2nd instalment of Central share for ex-gratia payment of Rs 500 under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.
Out of the total amount received, Rs 277.93 Lakhs are allotted for 55,585 beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Rs 26.90 Lakhs for 5380 beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) and Rs 5.04 Lakhs for 1007 beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), she asserted.
The above amount has been directly transferred to the beneficiaries account through DBT using PFMS to help them fight the battle against coronavirus.
Minister Nemcha Kipgen also expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for such initiative for the poor and needy during this pandemic.
