Recruit locals : JCILPS Students' Wing

Imphal, October 05 2017: Taking serious note of the notification issued by General Administrative Department (GAD), Government of Manipur for conducting recruitment to fill 20 different posts in Kolkata's Manipur Bhawan at Kolkata, JCILPS Students' Wing has today demanded that the recruitment be conducted in the State and give preferences to locals .

Addressing media persons at its office at Kwakeithel Konjeng Hajari Leikai, convener of the JCILPS Students' Wing Manjit Sarangthem informed that a notification for the recruitment was issued recently.

The recruitment is said to be conducted at a hired school in Kolkata .

He further said that non-locals are allowed to apply in the said recruitment, including the daughter of a high ranking officer of Manipur Bhawan, Kolkata .

Asserting that 33 out of 35 posts in the Bhawan are found to be non-locals, he decried that in spite of the worrisome state in the Bhawan, the State Government is trying to put more non-locals.

He added that this is against the interest of the Manipuri people and is depriving the job opportunities of the indigenous people.

This is not acceptable and the Government should cancel the notification and instead come out with a new one allowing only local Manipuris besides conducting the recruitment in the State, Manjit demanded .

He went on to threaten that JCILPS and its Students' Wing are ready to launch any form of agitation if their demands are not met at the earliest .

The convener also lamented that the Bhawan is ruled by non-locals.
