Imphal, November 04 2015:
The Govt of India should not leave out other ethnic communities while seeking a settlement to the Naga issue, Janata Dal (United) Manipur unit president M Tombi said.
He was addressing media persons at the JD (U) office located at Babupara today.
The JD (U) president met Joint Intelligence Committee chairman RN Ravi, who is also interlocutor to the Indo-Naga peace talks, today at Hotel Classic Grande.
During the meeting, the State unit JD (U) leader urged RN Ravi to make public the details of the signed framework agreement between the GoI and NSCN-IM.
He also urged the Centre emissary not to leave out other ethnic communities while seeking settlement to the Naga issue, Tombi said.
Ethno-exclusivist approach to solve the Naga issue will bring more problems amongst the different communities living in the State.
And the peace accord signed between the GoI and NSCN-IM will only act as the catalyst to further polarise the different communities of the State, Tombi highlighted to Ravi.
He also categorically stated that the accord should not in any way affect the integrity of Manipur.
RN Ravi had met various CSOs' leaders yesterday.
He met leaders of Citizens Committee, Manipur (CCM), Zomi Human Rights Foundation (ZHRF), JD (U) and Senior College Lecturers' Association today.
Ravi also visited Prof Gangmumei Kamei at his residence at Major Khul before leaving Imphal in the afternoon.
