Tension grips Zunheboto district

There has been apprehension that the Zunheboto public-NSCN-IM confrontation may spread to other areas and for that Naga orgranisations and the Church bodies and even the state administration are working against time to contain the volatile situation.
This was disclosed by intelligence sources to NNN this evening.
On December 21, four NSCN-IM cadres had allegedly molested two women including a Christian missionary and assaulted other passengers when the victims were heading home for Christmas in Zunheboto district.
Meanwhile, even as the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had reportedly warned the NSCN-IM asking the Naga outfit not to harass or kill people, the latter has accused Shambu Singh who is the Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) incharge of North East for all the troubles.
A well placed from the NSCN-IM said Shambhu Singh has been feeding the Central government all the wrong informations influenced by the enemies of the Nagas.
"However, we are constantly keeping in touch with New Delhi and the truth will prevail soon," said a top NSCN-IM leader this evening.
He also alleged that a good reward is awaited for Shambhu Singh to be presented by Manipur chief minister O Ibobi Singh "and so Mr Shambhu Singh is determine to sabotage the hard-earned Naga peace process" .
The NSCN-IM leader termed Shambhu Singh's activities as 'unhealthy instructions to the authority' against the NSCN-IM.
Meanwhile, a source from a senior journalist based in New Delhi informed Newmai News Network tonight that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had warned the NSCN-IM not to harass or kill the people.
This Delhi based journalist had interacted with the officials of the MHA this afternoon on the matter.
