Finance Service Rules amended

Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Personnel Division has amended the Manipur Finance Service Rules.
The amended rules have come into effect immediately as a gazette notification about the amendment was also issued today.
According to the gazette notification issued by the Joint Secretary (DP), there would be five grades of finance services under Rule 3(2) of the Manipur Finance Services (First Amendment) Rules 2018.The five grades are super time grade, selection grade, grade-I, grade-II and grade-III.
As per Rule 3(3) of the newly amended Manipur Finance Service Rules, all the five grade would be Group A Gazetted.
According to Rule 30(II), a grade-III officer can be promoted only after serving as a grade-II officer for minimum five years as a regular employee and he/she must also clear the professional examination.
Likewise, a grade-II officer must serve as a regular grade-II officer for minimum five years before he/she is promoted to grade-I .
The gazette notification says that there would be 204 grade posts including one post of super time grade, 20 posts of selection grade, 26 posts of grade-I, 57 posts of grade-II and 110 posts of grade-III.
There would be 255 posts of Manipur Finance Services after taking into account 51 posts for deputation/leave/training/ reserved, informed a source.
The officer who holds super time grade in Manipur Finance Services is now eligible to hold the posts of Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor.
Those who hold the 10 posts of selection grade are now eligible to occupy the posts of Joint Secretary (Finance), Budget Director, Small Savings Director, Local Fund Audit Director, Treasury and Accounts Director, Finance Commission Director, Additional Commissioner of Taxation and Additional Commissioner, Excise, added the source.
