NSCN-K Shepoumaramth merges with NSCN (R)

Senapati, June 07 2015 : Two weeks after Zeliangrong region of the NSCN-K merged with NSCN-R, the Shepoumaramth Region has also decided to join the Reformation group, which had signed a ceasefire agreement with the Government of India.

It may be mentioned that NSCN-K has abrogated the ceasefire and the outfit has been involving in ambushes and fighting with the Indian security forces.

It has been announced through an Azha (notice) that Shehii s/o R Heni is the chairman of Shepoumaramth Region of NSCN-R .

According to a statement issued by the Shepoumaramth-Reformation group, they have parted ways with NSCN (K) as they wish to work on social issues and social transformation.

The outfit wants to bring peace and harmony in Naga areas through ceasefire, the statement said.

It also clarified that the Reformation group has no ill feelings against any group or individual in the region.

Seeking support from the general public, it also appealed to the apex social organizations, village heads, group leaders, public leaders, politicians, intellectuals, bureaucrats and various bodies to extend co-operation in their activities.

The group has no any vested interest or desire to go against the wishes of the people, the statement said.

In order to channelize proper functioning of the group in the region, the outfit has appointed S Pao, Charleimai, Khole and A John as the deputy kilonser, CCM, vice-chairman and joint secretary respectively.
