Cataract operation at Loktak Power station area

Loktak Power Station has claimed to have conducted 301 cataract operations successfully during financial year 2013-14 under its Netra Jyoti project of CSR-SD scheme.
The station has also distributed spectacles free of cost to these patients after operating both the eyes, said a press release.
Meanwhile, in the second batch of this year's project, eight cataract cases were operated successful at Shija Hospitals and Research Institute, Imphal on June 5, added the press release.
Free medicines, subsidised cost of operation with foldable IOL, transportation and fooding for the patients were provided by NHPC Ltd.
14 cataract cases have already been operated successfully this financial year.
The press release further informed that elderly persons having cataract or difficulty in seeing distant objects may contact the doctors at Project Hospital, Loktak Power Station, Kom Keirap in order to get the opportunity of free cataract operation.
