Sadar Hills CSOs resolve to begin stir

Senapati, May 04 2016: Civil society organizations of Sadar Hills have decided to launch a series of agitation against the installation of commando out post at Gamgiphai in Sadar Hills starting May 5, reports our correspondent.

The decision was taken after a joint meeting held yesterday at Kangpokpi following the failure to withdraw the commando outpost within the stipulated period of time.

The joint meeting unanimously resolved to launch a sit in protest at Gamgiphai on May.

In case the State Government fails to fulfil the demand, intense agitations like highway bandh and economic blockade shall be enforced within Sadar Hills.

All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has also reportedly expressed to extend moral support.

Various civil bodies of Sadar Hills have been strongly opposing the alleged overnight creation of commando out post at Gamgiphai and subsequent deployment of commando personnel in Sadar Hills.

The CSOs also alleged the commando personnel of creating more problems in the area.
