Dimapur, February 01 2016:
NSCN-R has appealed to all Naga political groups, National workers, intellectuals, Churches, NGOs and citizens to support the ongoing Indo-Naga talks and work unitedly for an honorable and acceptable solution based on Naga historical and political rights.
Calling all to be part of the process, the NSCN-R appreciated the courage shown by both the GoI and the NSCN, to bring an early settlement to the long pending Indo-Naga issue with the signing of the Framework Agreement.
"The sincerity of the GoI is highly laudable as the PMO is directly overseeing and handling the Naga issue unlike before.
Naga issue is unique, so also the solution must be unique.
RN Ravi, the present chairman, MC and interlocutor of the Naga peace talks is not only well versed with the Naga issue but also equally sincere and serious to find out an amicable solution," stated MIP NSCN-Reformation.
"The Naga political movement for self-determination has come a long way after it was initially conceptualized by some of the Naga pioneers.
Since then, we have travelled, experimented, tasted many difficult times and situation.
This political movement of the Naga people has not spared a single Naga family including the politicians, bureaucrats, intellectuals, Churches, common man and even children of all ages.
This movement has affected the lives of Naga men and women.
"Today after so many years of bloodshed, struggle, pain, tears, arguments the talks of peace is once again resonating in our backyard.
It is an opportunity to bring back smiles on the faces of all affected Naga people.
It is an opportunity to thank God.
Naga people shouldn't miss this opportunity.
It is time to reform ourselves, reform our future; reform our society and our community.
The talks may be led by one of the Naga factions but ultimately if it is for the good of the Nagas, it is our duty and responsibility to lend our support.
It is our duty and responsibility to understand them and their situation rather than looking for an opportunity to criticize.
Naga people must show more maturity while dealing with the Indo-Naga issue and come out of tribalism or clanism," added the outfit.
