Imphal, January 30 2015 :
Asserting that one of the victims of Kadangband killing of Jan 28 was an innocent civilian, the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) and Kuki Students' Organisation (Ghqs) have urged the Govt to come to terms with the demand of the JAC formed in connection with the incident for the sake of justice and peace.
Vehemently condemning the Kadangband incident, KIM and KSO, in a joint statement, pledged support to the stance of the JAC.
"The 8 AR, by blatantly labelling both the deceased as UGs is not telling the truth.
"One of the victims, Khupneilal Neihsiel s/o (L) Lallam Neihsiel of Kangchup Chingkhong was an innocent civilian.
"The victim was the village authority secretary of his village and also was the vice president of Kuki Inpi, Twibul Lhang, and is known to everybody as an upright social leader.
The 4 KNF cadres had threatened him to drive them to their destination as he was one of the few people in the area who owns a vehicle," the joint statement signed by DM Touthang, information secretary of KIM and Laxman Kom, information secretary of KSO asserted.
The other deceased, Robert Hesei Kipgen was the CAO of KNF which is under Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the State and Central Governments.
His killing by the AR personnel, without any provocation on his part or from his men, is strongly condemnable, the KIM and KSO joint statement added.
