ISCA exhibition to begin today

In commemoration of the 101st session of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), an ISCA Regional Science Congress for North East India 2013 would be held at Manipur University on December 30 and 31 on the local theme "Innovations in Science and Technology for Inclusive Development" .
The congress would also feature an exhibition of new inventions made by innovators of the State.
Moreover, unique products manufactured by skilled artisans of the State would also be put on display.
There are around 20 innovators in the State who have made new inventions successfully.
Altogether 400 people would take part in the exhibition, said Prof Arun Kumar, general secretary, Scientific Activities.
The exhibition is being organised to promote indigenous food items like soibum, ngari, hawaijar etc as well as different articles produced by local artisans.
Moreover, the exhibition would give young innovators the much needed platform.
Kouna (reed) products, local incense sticks, herbal soaps, machinery etc would be put on display at the exhibition, said Prof Arun Kumar.
